The University of Gdansk has launched a virtual guide Journey to the UG Campus in OIiwa for the present and future students, as well as other people interested in Our Faculty. We would like to invite you to take a walk and tour around Our Faculty!

As part of the Faculty Seminar (which is held every Friday at 9.00), lecturers from Poland and abroad are invited from time to time to give talks. These are well-known specialists in their respective fields.

The University of Gdańsk launches a mobile vaccination point for students from October 5-12.

The vaccinations will be carried out in the building of the Chemistry Department ( ul. Wita Stwosza 63) from 10.00 to 13.00. Registration will be possible from September 23 to October 5.

In accordance with the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Health of August 27, 2021, on the prevention of seasonal flu in the season 2021/2022, free vaccinations will cover, among others, academic teachers and other persons conducting classes with students or doctoral students at the University, following the curriculum of studies or education, respectively, and other persons employed at the University. Therefore, we have taken steps to enable all willing members of the UG academic community to be vaccinated.

Contest for a PostDoc position in the Structural Biology Group

The ideal candidate should:
1. Hold a PhD degree in biological sciences or related fields, obtained not earlier than in 2017
2. Have a strong expertise in molecular biology, protein biochemistry and structural biology. Experience in working with DNA and RNA will be an asset

On 24 March 2016 Prof. Krzysztof Bielawski was elected as vice-rector of Development for 2016-2020.

More information

In December 2012, the University of Gdansk signed an agreement (no UDA-POIS.13.01-008/12-00) for  the construction of a new building for IFB. For the end of 2015 the opening of a new research and teaching complex has been planned. The usable area will be 7 868,18 m² and will cover 4 floors and a basement level.

The total cost of the project is approx. 15 million EUR and funding comes from the funds of the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment (EU Structural Funds).
