Dr hab. Danuta Gutowska-Owsiak is the second author of the article published in the journal Science Translational Medicine: "Proof-of-concept clinical trial of etokimab shows a key role for IL-33 in atopic dermatitis pathogenesis". The work describes the first use of a new biological drug, etokimab, in patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) and the mechanism of its action.
Dr hab. Danuta Gutowska-Owsiak received further funding from the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) to develop collaboration with another FNP grant recipient. The PLN 1 mln grant will allow interdisciplinary research into innovative cancer therapies conducted together with prof. Jonathan Heddle from the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University.
The Medical University of Gdańsk now officially holds the status of a research university. It is 1 of 10 universities in Poland and the only medical university that was awarded a place in this prestigious group.
Funds were awarded to a project led by Dr hab.
